Grýtubakkahreppur, also named Grýtubakki, is a municipality located in northern-central Iceland, in Norðurland eystra.
Its seat is in the village of Grenivík and, as of 2011, the population was of 334.[3]

Located on the western side of Eyjafjörður, in north of Akureyri, Grýtubakki is located in front of Dalvík and not too far from Húsavík. The main village, Grenivík, counts a population of 256 as of January 2011.
