Gregory Q. Brown is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Motorola Solutions.[1][2] Previously, Brown served as President and CEO of Motorola, Inc. since 2008, before it was separated into two, independent publicly traded companies on January 4, 2011. [3]

In addition to his responsibilities at Motorola Solutions, Brown is an active member of the civic and business communities. Brown regularly acts as a corporate representative on government economic initiatives. On June 8, 2011, the White House named Brown to President Barack Obama’s board for Skills for America’s Future. [4] He also represented Motorola Solutions on the President’s Management Advisory Board hosted by President Barack Obama at the White House on December 15, 2010 [5] as well as for a meeting prior to Chinese President Hu Jintao’s visit to the White House on January 19, 2011. [6]

Brown is a member of the Business Council, Business Roundtable, Technology CEO Council, Commercial Club of Chicago and the Northwestern Memorial Hospital board. He is also on the executive committee of the US-China Business Council (USCBC). Prior to joining Motorola, he was Chairman and CEO of Micromuse Inc. Previously, he was President of Ameritech Custom Business Services and Ameritech New Media Inc.

Brown earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Rutgers University and is a member of the Rutgers University board of trustees and board of overseers. [2]
