Greensheet is a family owned business which began in March 1970 in a small office at Kirby and Southwest Freeway, by Helen Gordon. Helen semi-retired in 1994 and fully retired in 1995, and since then has done oil portraits (she has been painting since she was young and is quite accomplished). She also continues playing the piano which she takes great pleasure in.
The newspaper is currently run by Kathy Douglass, who is ranked number nine in the Top Ten Woman-Owned Businesses by the Houston Business Journal. [1]
Greensheet is also known for their non-profit organization, the Greensheet Education Foundation which is dedicated to promoting literacy and writing skills among children K-12 in Texas and Arizona.
