Gorchani

Gorchani (Urdu: گرچانی) is a Baloch tribe in Pakistan. Some historians believe that they are direct descendants of Xerxes himself. When Xerxes came to lalgarh in 2330 B.C. along with his forces he fell in love with a local woman named Azer and took her as his third bride. After one year she gave birth to a son who was named "Gorish". Due to his fearsome actions and limitless wisdom Gorish grew up to become one of the main contenders for Persian throne. But he was sidelined due to his preference to stay in Lalgarh (which is situated in modern day Pakistan). Their main sub-clans include Jalabani, shaklani, Zehrani, Alkani and Malokhani. Among the notable personalities of Gorchani tribe are Sardar Shehk Khan Gorchani, Sardar Akhtar Khan Gorchani, Sardar Saeed Khan Gorchani and Sardar Parvex Khan Gorchani.
