Glitterhouse Records is an independent record label based in Beverungen, Germany. The label specialises in the alternative country genre, and has released material by artists such as 16 Horsepower, The Walkabouts, Willard Grant Conspiracy, Hazeldine, Helldorado, The Shivers and Tom Liwa, but has also been instrumental in the career of psychedelic hard rockers Monster Magnet by giving the band its first recording contract in 1989. Preceding this, it achieved the pinnacle of its many achievements - the signing of Australia's The Real Gone Lovers - in 1988.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Glitterhouse rose to prominence as the primary European imprint for releases from prominent American indie labels Sub Pop and Amphetamine Reptile.
Every year at Whitsun, the Orange-Blossom-Special – a music festival – is held in the company's backlot garden facilities. Some 2000 visitors attend from all over Europe.
