Glenn Davis (sports broadcaster)

Glenn Davis is an American sports journalist and broadcaster, college and professional soccer player, and youth soccer coach.

Playing

In college, Davis was an NAIA All-American and an All-WVIAC selection. As a professional, Davis was a central defender with the Pennsylvania Stoners, Houston Dynamos, Columbus Capitals, and Albany Capitals.

Davis' Stoners reached the 1983 American Soccer League finals. Davis was the Player of the Match in Game 1. The Stoners lost to the Jacksonville Tea Men in three games. Davis was a member of the USA team that finished third in the 1990 Marlboro Cup.

Broadcasting

At ESPN, Davis has served as a commentator for the 2002 and 2006 World Cups, as well as World Cup qualifiers, NCAA soccer, Copa America, the CONCACAF Gold Cup, Primera División de México, Serie A, UEFA Cup, UEFA Champions League, and Major League Soccer. In Houston, Davis has hosted The Soccer Hour with Glenn Davis on KPFT and KBME as well as written a twice weekly soccer column for the Houston Chronicle. He also serves as an analyst for Houston Dynamo games, working with play-by-play announcer Charlie Pallilo.

Davis won the Friends of Senator Soccer Association Lifetime Achiement Award in 2006.
