In his pro career, Kalaitzis has played for Panionios, Olimpia Milano, Panathinaikos, Aris and Panellinios.

Greek national team

Kalaitzis won the gold medal at the 1995 FIBA Under-19 World Championship with the Greek junior national team. As a member of the senior men's Greek national basketball team, he played at the EuroBasket 1997, the 1998 FIBA World Championship, the EuroBasket 1999, and the EuroBasket 2001.
