Gietrzwałd [ˈɡʲɛtʂfau̯t] (German Dietrichswalde) is a village in Olsztyn County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Gietrzwałd.[1] It lies approximately 18 km (11 mi) west of the regional capital Olsztyn.
Before 1772 the area was part of Kingdom of Poland, 1772-1945 Prussia and Germany (East Prussia).
The village has a population of 1,070.
