Gerhard Lotze (21 May 1922 — 13 October 1944) was a Hauptsturmführer (Captain) in the Waffen-SS during World War II who was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, which was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World War II.
Gerhard Lotze was killed in action in Poland on the 13 October 1944, while in command of the 5th Company, II.Battalion, 10th SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment Westland. He was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross and promoted to Hauptsturmführer.[1][2]
