The unusual structure of songs, and wilfully experimental style embraced by Willie Isz on the record was much commented on. Derek Walmsley, reviewing in The Quietus wrote:
“ | For the most part, the pleasures are in the slippages and disintegrations, the way it becomes weightier and weirder with every track. Georgiavania never seems to sound the same way twice — expect a straight album and you can almost visualise the duo glancing at you with quizzical, mocking expressions. But for now, the awkward, sprawling monster that is Willie Isz makes a real change from the flat-packed consumer good that most hip hop represents.[4] | ” |
Jason Thurston, writing in the All Music Guide wrote:
“ | Georgiavania, switched styles with just about every step, often morphing as many as three times on one track, mixing crunk, bounce, snap, and other pat Southern rap sounds with everything from Philly soul to experimental rock to techno. The eclectic record earned critical love from sources ranging from XLR8R and Remix to Pitchfork.[5] | ” |
