State Route 288 is a west–east state route located entirely in Towns County in the northern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. From the route's western terminus at U.S. Route 76/State Route 2/State Route 17 west of Hiawassee, the route runs southeast, then east, along the southwestern shore of Lake Chatuge to meet its eastern terminus at U.S. Route 76/State Route 2/State Route 17/State Route 75 southeast of Hiawassee. While the route does bypass Hiawassee, it is longer than taking U.S. Route 76 through downtown.
