Georgi Grigorevich Mondzolevski (Russian: Георгий Григорьевич Мондзолевский, born January 26, 1934) is a Russian former volleyball player who competed for the Soviet Union in the 1964 Summer Olympics and in the 1968 Summer Olympics.
He is Jewish, and was born in the Orsha.[1][2] Dr. George Eisen of Nazareth College included Shary on his list of Jewish Olympic Medalists.[3]
He won a Soviet championship with Burevestnik Odessa in 1956, and then with CSKA Moskva he won seven Soviet championships (1958, 1960-1963, 1965, and 1966) and twice won the European Champions’ League title (1960 and 1962).[2]
In 1964 he was part of the Soviet team that won the gold medal in the Olympicst. He played all nine matches. Four years later he won his second gold medal with the Soviet team, in the 1968 Olympic tournament. He played all nine matches again.
He also won two World Championships with the Soviet team (1960 and 1962) and the European Championships title in 1967.[2]
After his career was over, he taught as a professor at the Moscow State Mining University.[2]
