Gemvara

Gemvara is a Boston-based start-up and retailer which focuses on high end fully customizable jewelry. Gemvara has raised over $25 million.[1] The founder and president of the company Matt Lauzon started Gemvara as an undergraduate at Babson College.[2]

Gemvara is located in Boston's financial district where they moved from the office in Lexington, MA. Gemvara is currently home to 40 employees.[3] Gemvara was incubated out of Lexington, MA by Highland Capital Partners which is a venture capital firm stemming from Canaan Partners.[4]

During the early days of Gemvara Matt signed up a variety of 50 Jewelers and found that customers enjoyed the idea of online jewelry customization. This caused the Gemvara business plan to shift gears quite a bit.[5]
