Ganjial are a Rajput/Jatt tribe found in Gujrat, Khushab, and Jhelum districts of Punjab, Pakistan and a few are also found in Azad Kashmir. According to the tribes tradition, they are a sub clan of the Khokhar Rajputs.[1]
The Ganjial are a landowning and cultivating class and in Gujrat District refer to themselves as Jats, while in Khushab and Jhelum, they refer to themselves as Rajputs. In Khushab District, there main villages are Ganjial Shumali and Gunjial Janubi. However history tells that the renowned religious speaker and a mujahid against fitna-e-qadianiat, Hazrat Ata Ullah Shah Bukhari(R.A) once visited this place and gave a sermon there. He said that it is not "Gunjial", it is "Ganjial" means rich in knowledge treasure.
