Ganaur (Hindi: गन्नौर) is a city and a municipal committee in Sonipat district in the state of Haryana, India.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census[1], Ganaur had a population of 29,005. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Ganaur has an average literacy rate of 68%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 59%. In Ganaur, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age. The town is known for Gurumaa Ashram. There is a children's park in the center of the city, called Ch. Lahri Singh Park.

Geography

Ganaur is located 60 km north of the National Capital, New Delhi, and is on the National Highway 1 (Delhi - Amristar).
