Galatro (Greek: Galotyrion) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Reggio Calabria in the Italian region Calabria, located about 60 km southwest of Catanzaro and about 60 km northeast of Reggio Calabria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,077 and an area of 50.5 km².[1]

Galatro today is known very well for the thermal establishment. A Short story of it. After about 100 years of several discussion, changes of landlord and management, the thermal establishment of Galatro became of town council property again. This was due to indefatigable activity of Bruno Marazzita mayor of the city. Also the new building of the thermal establishment was an idea and strongly required by the town council and in particular by Bruno Marazzita "The mayor", as usually called. This man will remain in the Galatro history as the very famous and more representative mayor of the last century. In addition to be noted that Bruno Marazzita is still considered as the "defense of the population", courageous and no-profit symbol.

Galatro borders the following municipalities: Fabrizia, Feroleto della Chiesa, Giffone, Grotteria, Laureana di Borrello, Mammola, Maropati, San Pietro di Caridà.
