The Furiiru language is the language spoken by the Fuliiru (plural Bafuliiru) people, also known as the Fuliru or Fulero, who live north and west of the town of Uvira in Uvira Territory, South Kivu province in the far eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They numbered an estimated 300,000 in 1999.[1]

The language spoken by the Konjo people is called, variously, Kifuliiru or Kifulero. It has a 77% lexical similarity with Mashi and 90% similarity with Nyindu and Joba. The Bafuliiru also use Swahili.[1]
