FunAdvice was launched in March 2003 by Jeremy Goodrich, Ericson Smith, and Widhadh Waheed as a showcase of search engine optimization (SEO).[2]
The website operated with part-time employees until August 2006 when FunAdvice hired its first full-time employees. FunAdvice incorporated in July 2007.[3]
There is a point system at FunAdvice that allows a user to gain points for valuable postings and convert it into US dollars. The point system is an incentive to urge users to submit more valuable content. FunAdvice also hosts sections for "How To" tutorials, "Tips", and video uploads.
Several features distinguish FunAdvice.com from competitors:[4][5]
In August 2007 Mandy Moore answered questions as a 'Celebrity Advisor'.[6]
In October 2006, FunAdvice.com was listed among 'Best of the Best Web 2.0 Web Sites'.[7]
