History

First documented about Fryšták is from 14th century in written document from January 15, 1356: "... Nicolaus Luce de Freystat clerius Olomoucensis diocesis, publicus auctoritate imperiali notarius ...".[1]

In the 19th Century, the town was notable for both agriculture and wood production. Following the fire of 1841, Fryšták's typical wooden buildings began to be replaced by more modern buildings, and a wave of building in the second half of the 20th Century saw the construction of many new houses and the installation of modern facilities such as gas and telephone networks.[2]
