Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport (IATA: TRS, ICAO: LIPQ), also known as Trieste Airport or Ronchi dei Legionari Airport, is an airport located 0.3 NM (0.56 km; 0.35 mi) west of Ronchi dei Legionari (Gorizia),[1] near Trieste in Venezia Giulia, north-eastern Italy. In 2007 the airport was renamed Friuli – Venezia Giulia "Pietro Savorgnan di Brazzà" Airport, in honor of the 19th-century humanitarian explorer of Africa known in English as Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza, namegiver of Brazzaville.
The airport has a catchment area of approximately 5 million people, stretching beyond Friuli-Venezia Giulia into Slovenia and Croatia. It is equipped to handle all major aircraft. In recent years, it has witnessed an increase in cargo aircraft. In 2010, Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport handled approximately 2.8 million passengers- up 254% from 2007. The airport was named the fastest growing transport centre in the central Alpine region in September of 2011 by Fruililadria, and EuropaTravel.

The first official documents citing the airfield of Ronchi dei Legionari date back to November 30, 1935, when the 4th Fighter Wing of the Royal Italian Air Force was based here.
Commercial operations officially began on 2 December 1961.

Aeroporto Friuli-Venezia Giulia SpA is the Company that has been running the airport since July 1997; its shareholders are the Consorzio per l'Aeroporto Friuli-Venezia Giulia - a consortium of local authorities and municipalities - (51%) and the Friuli – Venezia Giulia Region (49%).
In addition to this, the Company aims at developing non-aviation activities at the airport. The "Polo Intermodale" project is part of this planned expansion, that envisages the development of a multi-modal (air-road-rail) interchange that will be built in the near future just in front of the airport terminal.
