Franciscus or Frans de Neve (1606, Antwerp – 1681, Antwerp), was a Flemish Baroque painter.
According to Houbraken he received praise while in Rome for his ability to paint according to nature.[1] Houbraken quoted from a poem about him on page 349 of Cornelis de Bie's book Het Gulden Cabinet.
According to the RKD in 1629 he became a master in the Guild of St. Luke and from 1660-1666 he travelled to Rome, where he lived first with Karel van Mander III, in 1661-1662 with Hieronymus Galle and in 1665-1666 with Lodewijk Snaijers.[2]
