Foxit Corporation (Chinese: 福昕软件开发有限公司; pinyin: fú xīn ruǎn jiàn kāi fā yǒu xiàn gōng sī) is a Chinese multinational software corporation headquartered in Fuzhou, China, with offices in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and the United States. The company specializes in providing software solutions for reading, creating, organizing, and securing PDF documents. The most notable product of the company is the Foxit Reader, a PDF reader that has been compared favorably to Adobe Reader. History

Founded in 2001 in Beijing, China, the company has quickly expanded internationally with offices in Beijing, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, France, and the United States. In 2004, Foxit released its flagship product, Foxit Reader along with its bestselling desktop product, Foxit PDF Editor. In 2009, Foxit Software Company was incorporated as Foxit Corporation.

Foxit was awarded the Minority Global Technology Firm of the Year in August 2011 by the Minority Business Development Association (MBDA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The award recognizes firms for establishing best practices and for their exemplary accomplishments in advancing minority business enterprises.^[1]
