Foradian Technologies was started as a web design firm by a group of young people in India from the states of Kerala and Karnataka[12]. Design wing was separately formed as Brand Mango[13] and focused operations at Bangalore.
Fedena is an open source school management software based on Ruby on Rails framework. It was selected for a presentation at International Rubyconf held at Bangalore on March 2010[14][15][16]. Fedena is also presented in the Debconf 2010[17]. Latest version of Fedena – 2.1 was released on 16 August 2011. Fedena is also available in Spanish other than English. Foradian Technologies provide Fedena related services, Fedena – PRO. Project Sampoorna, which powers more than 13000 +schools in Kerala, is based on Fedena and developed by Foradian Technologies.[18]
As soon as the new Indian Rupee sign was approved, Foradian technologies published a free font at their blog[19][20][21]. The font and the blog became a viral phenomenon with 1 million visits in just two days of the launch of the font. The font also got criticisms for mapping the rupee symbol to the grave accent key of the keyboard and releasing a font much ahead of approval of unicode. The Rupee sign may be made visible on those word-processors also where the font is not installed in the system, by choosing to embed the font in the document in file saving options. However, embedding the Foradian Rupee Font renders the document read-only i.e., the document cannot be edited on a system where the font is not installed.
Foradian developed a billing management application for P.C.Hashir, Mangalore[22] which focus on making online bill payment easy for common man of India.[23].
