Fonaitika is located 110 km SSW from Patras (via the Olympia-Lambeia Road, though narrow access), 15 km north of Pyrgos, about 15 km SSE of Amaliada, 30 km northwest of Olympia and about 12 to 15 km northeast of Katakolo.
The hills and some mountains dominate the area with some farmlands.
After World War II and the Greek Civil War, its buildings were rebuilt and emigration occurred at a higher rate until the 1970s. Vrochitsa became connected with asphalt in the 1960s. Electricity, radio and automobiles were introduced in the mid-20th century, television in the late-20th century and computer and internet at the turn of the millennium. In 1997, the ex-community (now a village and a municipal district) joined to become the newly formed municipality of Iardanos.
Its economy is based mainly on agricultural products, such as olives, fruits and vegetables.
There is an elementary school, a church and a big square. The nearest high school is in Vounargo and the nearest hospital is in Pyrgos.
