Follafoss is a village located in the municipality of Verran in Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. The 0.8-square-kilometre (200-acre) village has a population (2011) of 402. The population density of the village is 503 inhabitants per square kilometre (1,300 /sq mi).[1]
Follafoss is located in the middle of the Beitstadfjorden, the inner-most arm of the Trondheimsfjord, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) southwest of the municipal center of Malm and about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) northeast of Verrastranda. The Follaelva river empties into the Trondheimsfjord at Follafoss. The lakes Holden and Selavatnet both feed the river and also provide power through the Nord-Trøndelag Elektrisitetsverk power company through hydroelectric power from the dams on the lakes.
The village is also the location of Follafoss Church. The local paper mill, Södra Cell Folla, is the largest employer in the area.[3]
