Plot

It is an original game in the series and has a new story;[3] the last few games on the Nintendo DS have been remakes of past games. The story follows the prince of the Kingdom of Iris, as he struggles during a turbulent era.[4]

Gameplay

Fire Emblem: Kakusei will have elements of gameplay retained from previous entries in the series,[3] but will also have various new features. The game features a new option to perform a team-up attack with a supporting character. There is a traversable world map, like in Gaiden and The Sacred Stones, where you can enter battles or purchase supplies from locations on the map. Special Skills from Seisen no Keifu and Path of Radiance make a return—characters can have five Skills at one time and these Skills can be freely swapped around.[5]

Development

The game was announced at Nintendo's 3DS press conference ahead of the 2011 Tokyo Game Show.
