Having being born in the golden era of hip hop music and vinyl records in the eighties Finatik would take an interest in the art of DJing. It wasn’t long before the dedicated turntablist had mastered the craft and at just fourteen years of age he began entering battles. He then went on to become the Australian State ITF Champion and Quicksilver State DJ Champion, as well as landing second place in the Australian DMC Finals.
One year and much media attention later his talent was noticed when Finatik gained a sponsorship deal with Ecko Clothing and aligned forces with the well-known Terntable Jediz—joining current members DJ Sheep, DJ Damage, Krypton and DJ Kenny[1] —which led to exposure both interstate and overseas. All this, at the age of fifteen. With constant hard work and dedication, Finatik started hosting his own hip hop radio show Underground Airplay with fellow Perth DJ Blade. It soon became so popular that it led to many high-profile performances and professional relationships, including his current partnership with founder and C.E.O of Stadium Music Management, Joel Brown.
By the time Finatik had reached eighteen, he had accomplished what most high school students had only dreamed of, and had acquainted himself with some of hip hop’s biggest names such as DJ Premier, Method Man & Redman, Jurrasic 5, Black Eyed Peas, Mix Master Mike etc...
During this time, Finatik continued to broaden his skills and decided that he wanted to be more involved in creating and developing the beats that he had become so used to playing on the decks weekly at resident nightclubs of up to 5,000 people all around Australia and Asia. Word spread fast that this popular young DJ had retired from battles and would be pursuing his production career.
It was then that he was introduced to another Perth production heavyweight, Isaac Deboni, known as Zac, who had completed a diploma in audio engineering from the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) straight out of high school.
Zac had the same drive and musical talent as Finatik, and had started producing music at the age of fifteen. His years of learning the piano and drums as a child were paying off, and he began to share his genuine talent with local artists, allowing him to perfect his craft. At nineteen, Finatik’s radio show co-host, Joel Brown, envisaged a power-house producing duo and began to shop their beats to various artist managers in the US.
2010 proved to be a major year for the duo, as their networking has led to them being offered the amazing opportunity to officially produce alongside Jim Jonsin and for his label. Jonsin was impressed with their unique sound all the way from the other side of the world.
The signed production duo are now living and working in Miami, Florida.
Finatik n Zac have worked alongside top of the line writers such as Rico Love (Beyonce, Usher, Dirty Money), The Jackie Boyz (Madonna, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Flo-Rida), Heather Bright (Justin Bieber, Toni Braxton, Fantasia, Brandy), Andre Merritt (Chris Brown, Rhianna, Backstreet Boys), Edwin "Lil' Eddie" Serrano (Kylie Minougue, P.Diddy, Jo Jo, Jay Sean), Ali Tamposi (Beyonce), Che'Nelle (Leona Lewis, Amerie) etc..
