Fighting Cock Bourbon is a brand of Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey produced in Bardstown, Kentucky by Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc. It is sold in 16 oz (1 pint), 750ml, and 1-liter glass bottles.
The mash bill for Fighting Cock Bourbon includes corn, barley and rye,[1] and the product is aged for six years to, as the manufacturer puts it, "smooth out the feathers real well".[2] It is bottled at 103 proof (51.5% alcohol by volume). Touted by its manufacturer as “The bad boy of Bourbon”,[2] it has a little heat to it as it goes down.
Its manufacturer claims that, through its award-winning packaging and point-of-sale presentation that includes a unique and irreverent marketing campaign, Fighting Cock appeals to both male Gen X-ers and serious Bourbon lovers alike.[2]
