FalconStor Software
FalconStor Software (NASDAQ: FALC) is a provider of disk-based data protection software. The Company's software includes Virtual Tape Library (VTL) with data deduplication, Continuous Data Protector (CDP), File-interface Deduplication System (FDS) and Network Storage Server (NSS), each enabled with WAN-optimized replication for disaster recovery and remote office protection.[1][2][3]
History
FalconStor was founded in 2000 in New York. In 2007 the company started a join-venture with the Chinese Academy of Sciences for the Blue Whale file system.[4] The joint venture was named Tianjin Zhongke Blue Whale Information Technologies Company, located in Tianjin, China.[5]. FalconStor was listed at #5 in the Forbes 2008 list of 25 fastest growing technology companies.[6] In August 2009, FalconStor, in a joint-venture with Nexsan to create the co-branded DeDupe SG [7][8].
