Gwendolyn Faith Hunter is an American fantasy and thriller author. She writes as Faith Hunter in the fantasy genre, and as Gwen Hunter in the thriller genre. She also collaborates on thrillers with Gary Leveille, under the name Gary Hunter. Originally from Louisiana bayou country, she now resides in South Carolina.[1][2][3]

Hunter is one of the founding members of the blog, MagicalWords.net.[4] Magical Words is dedicated to helping newer writers with all aspects of the craft and business of writing, and a book based on the blog, How To Write Magical Words: A Writer's Companion was published by Bella Rosa Books in 2011.[5]

Biography

The daughter of an artist/decorator and an engineer,[6] Hunter grew up on the bayou, where she learned about crabbing, fishing, and survival skills, all of which, along with horses and dogs, interested her more than more traditionally-female skills. She loves history, ancient writings, and literature, including fantasy and science fiction. With the encouragement of her teachers, she began writing during high school. Her hobbies include making jewelry, whitewater rafting, yoga, lifting weights, and reading.[1][7][8]

With a degree in Allied Health Technology,[2] Hunter works full-time in a rural hospital.[9] She is married to Rod Hunter.[10]
