FC Amkar Perm
FC Amkar Perm (Russian: Футбо́льный клуб "Амка́р" Пермь) is a professional football club playing in Russian Premier League. They are based in the city of Perm and are the easternmost football club in Europe playing in top national competition. Amkar's home stadium is Zvezda Stadium, which was covered with artificial turf in 2005.
History
Amkar appeared on May 5, 1993 when a team assembled of workers of Perm Mineral Fertilizers factory played the first match in the Cup of Perm city.
The next year Amkar became the champion of Perm Oblast and in 1995 Amkar became a professional club. In 2009 after a strong season, Amkar qualified for the Europa League but lost to eventual runners-up Fulham F.C., therefore missing out the group stage.

In August 2006 head coach Sergei Oborin, left the team due to conflict with club administration. Goalkeeping coach Igor Uralyov was briefly appointed as caretaker, and on September 5 Rashid Rakhimov was appointed as the new head coach. Amkar finally finished Russian Premier League as 4th in 2008 and qualified to UEFA Europa League.
