FAES

FAES is the acronym for the Spanish think tank association Fundacion para el Análisis y los Estudios Sociales, translated as Foundation for Analysis and Social Studies. It has strong links with the Partido Popular. It is known as the "Popular Party's ideas laboratory". It was established the 11 November 2002 in Madrid.

The president of the association is former prime minister José María Aznar, the vice president is Javier Arenas Bocanegra, a former minister in Aznar's government.

FAES is of a conservative liberal ideology. It has been criticized from the left-wing sectors for its subordination to the politics of the Partido Popular.
