F.A.L.T.U (Expansion: Fakirchand and Lakirchand Trust University, Translation: Useless) is a Hindi energetic comedy film directed by Remo D'Souza and produced by Vashu Bhagnani under the banner Puja Entertainment (India) Ltd.[1] It is a remake of the 2006 comedy, Accepted.[4]
It stars Jackky Bhagnani, Puja Gupta, Ritesh Deshmukh and Arshad Warsi in the lead roles. Boman Irani, Angad Bedi, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Akbar Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Jariwala and others appear in supporting pivotal roles. The film released on 1 April 2011, to mixed reviews and did moderately well at the box office being an "above average" grosser.

After Ritesh Virani (Jackky Bhagnani), Nanj (Angad Bedi) and Pooja (Puja Gupta) fail at they're exam papers, and are unable to find an admission, they use their friend Vishnu's (Chandan Roy Sanyal) help to create their own fake college. They also use help from Google Chand (Arshad Warsi), a very close relative of Ritesh, as well as a genius. After the college is set, they name it "Fakirchand And Lakirchand Trust University (F.A.L.T.U.)". They hire Bajirao (Ritesh Deshmukh), a small nursery teacher as the prinicipal, though after some random and useless children show up for their admission at F.A.L.T.U, they are forced to continue the act. When they try to make F.A.L.T.U official, and a real college, they are rejected, and therefore they take part in a talent competition for university's, where after their performance, they are humiliated by Vishnu's father (Akbar Khan). Then, one of the show judges, Mr. Subodh (Mithun Chakraborty) enters, he stops Vishnu's father, and talks to Google and Bajirao about turning F.A.L.T.U into a real college, as he sees true education in they're fate, and hope. In the end, Bajirao goes back to teaching nursery children. Nanj fulfills his dream, becomes a fitness-trainer. Pooja becomes a DJ. Vishnu frees from his dad's jungle, and decides to become an actor. Google Chand is still relaxing in his pad, still living life while he can. And Ritesh now owns F.A.L.T.U, leader of the university, which is now full of more than 500 students.

The film's soundtrack is composed by Sachin-Jigar with lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil. The song "Le Ja Tu Mujhe" by Atif Aslam was in the top 10 chart busters of 2011.
The soundtrack contains 9 songs. The song Char Baj Gaye is completely copied from the Black Eyed Peas song My Humps.[5]

F.A.L.T.U received mixed reviews. Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave the film 3.5/5 claiming it to be a "coming-of-age energetic film which we need for a long time!" Rony D'costa from the Desi Martini rated it 2/5 saying "Along with Game, this one is an April fool joke on the audience aswell." Rajeev Masand from CNN-IBN mostly gave it negative reviews like calling its comedy "dumb" by rating it 1.5 out of 5 and claimed that the film feels much longer than its roughly two hours running time.
According to Box office India, F.A.L.T.U performed a "good" opening nationwide, but loosened the weakness throughout the third week. The film collected 20 crores in its full theatrical run, and was "above average" at the box office.
Since F.A.L.T.U was the surprise hit of the year, it premiered on the Asian channel MAX on 26 June 2011.
