Exivious is an unsigned Dutch progressive metal/jazz fusion band, featuring current members of Dutch bands Songaia and Textures, and former hired players with American band Cynic. So far, they have one self-titled, self-released album. Exivious incorporate heavy metal riffs with a jazz fusion approach to phrasing and time signatures, complex rhythms and free improvisation. In May 2010, after selling out of their limited edition box, Kruidenier, the band's guitarist, announced that Exivious had disbanded. This came due to differing schedules and commitments that the members were facing individually.[1] In December 2010, Krudenier and Zielhorst departed from the American-based Cynic due to logistical problems based on living in the Netherlands, reforming Exivious in the process.[2] A new album is set to be recorded in early 2012.
