Eturnagaram is a village and a mandal in Warangal district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. It is one of the most beautiful places in Andhra Pradesh. It is totally covered with deep forest.

Eturnagaram is 250 km away from the capital of Andhra Pradesh. It is a mandal, located on the National Highway 202. There are 13 Grama panchayats and 64 villages in this mandal. The mandal area is totally surrounded by a deep forest. There are more than 2 lakh people in this mandal. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1953 due to its rich bio-diversity. It is spread at a distance of 806 km2 in Warangal district. It is located at a distance of 103 km from Warangal and 250 km from Hyderabad. The roads are laid out nicely and a ride through the forest gives a thrilling experience. There was a time where Eturunagaram was a synonym to naxalism but the things have changed considerably and now we rarely see any of those activities.
The village has two ponds which look spectacular with lotus flowers spreading all over and one would surely like to have a pic of it. It has only one movie theater but to cover it up all the movies are releasing on day one. The famous Medaram is about 25 km from this place. Another holy place nearby is the spectacular Mallur Narasimhaswamy Temple, which is about 25 km from the place. One should visit at least once in one's lifetime so as to feel the solace. The prestigious Devadula project is located in this mandal itself. We have to stretch to the most remote part of AP to find it. Also, this mandal is on the border of AP and Chatthisgarh.
The famous Bellarpur Industry limited is ten km away from this place.

Wildlife sanctuary

The surrounding forest includes southern tropical dry deciduous type of teak and its associates like thiruman, maddi, and bamboo, while the fauna includes several endangered animals like tiger, sloth bear, four-horned antelope, chinkara and black buck.

There is a wildlife sanctuary located in Eturnagaram. River Godavari also passes through the outskirts of the village.

The climate is usually hot round the year. The temperature often reaches 43°C during summer. There is a sufficient rainfall in the every year. The annual average rainfall is about 1000 mm [1]

Best time to visit: From October to January

Accommodation: A forest rest house with one suite and three tourist huts are available at Tadvai and ITDA guest house at Etunagaram.

How to reach there

By road: A number of RTC buses and private transport are available from Warangal.

By rail: The nearest railway station are Warangal and Kazipet, at about 100 km away.

By air: Hyderabad is the nearest airport, which is 250 km.
