Essendon West is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 11 km north-west from Melbourne's central business district. Its Local Government Area is the City of Moonee Valley. At the 2006 Census, Essendon West had a population of 1363.
It is bounded in the west by Steele Creek, in the north by Rosehill Road, in the east by Afton Street and Hoffmans Road, and in the south by the Maribyrnong River.
