Ernest D. Preate, Jr. (born November 22, 1940)[3] is a former Pennsylvania Attorney General. His term ended prematurely when he was indicted on federal charges for mail fraud, for which he served a sixteen-month prison sentence in Duluth, Minnesota.[4]
Prior to serving as Attorney General, Preate was district attorney of Lackawanna County.
