- On 7 September 2001, an Equaflight Boeing 707-300 aircraft (registered TN-AGO) was damaged beyond repair in a crash-landing at Lubumbashi International Airport. The aircraft had just left Lubumbashi for a flight to Kinshasa (even though the aircraft was cargo configured, there are reports that 240 passenger were on board), when the landing gear failed to be retracted. The aircraft returned to Lubumbashi, where it skidded off the runway upon landing. Even though the aircraft had to be written off, there were no fatalties.[2]
