Enrique "Coco" Alberto Vicéns Sastre was born in Ciales, Puerto Rico. His brother was Juan "Pachín" Vicéns. He was a senator-at-large in the Puerto Rico State Legislature from 1973 until 1978.[1] He is a member of Phi Sigma Alpha fraternity.[2] He played for the Leones de Ponce basketball team.[3]

By 1952 he was a Captain in the Army in Fort Buchanan in the 296 Regiment.[4] In 1970 he was part of the medical staff that accompanied the Puerto Rico Delegation to the 1970 Central American and Caribbean Games.[5]

He served as a Municipal Legislator in Ponce in the 2004-2008 elections.[6]

Legacy

In 1966 he was selected to the Puertorican Basketball Hall of fame and in 1993 he was included in the Ciales Sports Hall of Fame.[4]

During the 1990s the "Centro Recreativo y Cultural Enrique Vicéns" was established by the municipal government being mayor of Ponce Rafael Cordero Santiago, located in La Guancha Recreational and Cultural Complex.[7][8]
