Bull was born in Chester, England. The majority of her early life was spent living in Hong Kong. After leaving school, she undertook a course in Theatrical Make-up & Wigmaking and spent her spare time undertaking work experience in local theatres. On completion of the Theatrical make up course, she went on to study technical theatre and performing arts. She gained a place at Rose Bruford College in London, a theatre college that focuses on specific theatre disciplines. She earned a BA Hons Degree in Lighting Design.
After a brief stint in the Lighting Department for a selection of BBC TV productions such as Parkinson, The Weakest Link and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, working alongside UK lighting directors Mark Kenyon, Will Charles and Roger Williams, she moved back into the world of theatre where she worked in the lighting departments of West End London theatres including Sadler's Wells and the Royal Opera House. She also undertook Wigmaking, Costume and Props roles in theatre and touring.
She has been credited as a Costume Designer for the 2008 film "Trimming the Fat" as well as Costume Assistant on "Flashbacks of a Fool" starring Daniel Craig, and Art Department Assistant on "Ruby Blue" starring Bob Hoskins.[2]
A chance introduction to show director, photographer and stylist William Baker led to a friendship and work relationship that has spanned 5 years. She worked as Baker's assistant, in his position as Kylie Minogue's Creative Director, on photoshoots, video shoots and tours. During 2006-7 she was Stylist and Head of Wardrobe for Minogue[3] as well as Costume and Wig Supervisor on her "Homecoming" Tour, directed by Baker.[4] She was commissioned to design and make a silver beaded headdress for the show finale costume, a collaboration with Matthew Williamson, Stephen Jones and Pucci. The headdress is now exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.[5] Baker employed her as Assistant Creative Director on Kylie Minogue's "X" Tour in 2007-8. She has also worked along side Baker creating tours for Il Divo and Westlife and assisted him in styling the Britney Spears' Circus tour.
She directed her first international solo concert tour at the end of 2009 with 'Christmas with Il Divo' [6] In 2009, as a director in her own right, she has directed performances and tours for artists signed to Simon Cowell's record label, Syco, such as Alexandra Burke, Escala and Il Divo. In 2009-2010 she directed and designed television performances for Susan Boyle, runner up of ITV's “Britain's Got Talent”, both in the UK and internationally, on The Oprah Winfrey Show, America's Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars and GMTV. She has also directed and designed for The X Factor guest performances including Westlife, Leona Lewis and the X Factor contestants charity single performance.
