Tan Sri Dato' Elyas Omar was the third Lord Mayor (Datuk Bandar) of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.[1] Elyas was the President of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) to record its success is helping the country win the Thomas Cup in 1992 and in football led Kuala Lumpur FA Malaysia Cup champion three times in a row from 1987 to 1989. On 17 November 1992, he was succeeded by Dato' Dr Mazlan Ahmad.
