Eloi language is a constructed language spoken by Eloi people in the 2002 movie The Time machine. For use in the movie it was created by screenwriter John Logan. The language is also featured in three songs of the film: "Eloi," "Stone Language," and "Godspeed." In the original novel they spoke a primitive language, and in the 1960 film they spoke English.
The Eloi language does not appear to be very complex, as Eloi people are primitive. Basic words are short, while longer, more complex words are mostly compounds of shorter words.[1] There is no sign of more complex language features such as grammatical cases or grammatical tenses. They keep English alive as an historical language, much like Latin and Sanskrit in modern times.
