Elliot Charles Parish[2] (born 20 May 1990 in Northampton[1]) is an English footballer who plays for Cardiff City as a goalkeeper.
Career
Aston Villa
Parish joined Aston Villa's Academy in the 2006-07 season. He became the regular goalkeeper for Villa's under-18 team that won the 2007–08 Premier Academy League and reached the semi-final of the FA Youth Cup the same year.[3] He represented England in the 2009 under-20 World Cup, and was highlighted by coach Brian Eastick as "one player in particular to come out with some credit".[4] In the 2010–11 season, he established himself as the regular goalkeeper for Villa's reserve team and travelled with the first team squad in the Europa League.[5]
Lincoln City
On 24 March 2011, Parish signed for Football League Two club Lincoln City on loan until the end of the season.[6] He went straight into the starting eleven for his Football League debut the following day, in a match against Rotherham United F.C. which Lincoln lost 6–0.[7]
Cardiff City
On 23 September 2011, Elliot joined Cardiff City on a loan deal until 10 November.[8] He went straight into the squad, being placed on the bench against Leicester City, two days later. He never once played for Cardiff during his loan spell but signed a 1 and a half year contract on 3 January 2012.[9]
