Eleusine is a genus of grasses sometimes called by the common name goosegrass. There are about nine species, eight of which are native to Africa, with the ninth, E. tristachya, native to South America. Particularly well known is Eleusine indica, a widespread weed. Eleusine coracana, finger millet, is cultivated for its grain in India and parts of Africa.
