MeSH D004568

Electrodiagnosis is a method of obtaining information about diseases by passively recording the electrical activity of body parts or by measuring their response to external electrical stimulus.[1]

The electrical activity recorded may be spontaneous or elicited by stimuli. The most widely used methods of recording spontaneous electrical activity are electrocardiography (ECG) and electroencephalography (EEG). The evoked potential studies record the electrical responses after the stimulation of central nervous system structures.
