The Eight Mile Plains Busway Station, at Eight Mile Plains, is part of the South East Busway serviced by TransLink bus routes. It is currently the last station on the South East Busway, and is connected to the Springwood Bus Station by the Pacific Motorway used by Logan City Bus Service. It is in Zone 4 of the TransLink integrated public transport system.
This specific bus station furthers its diversity as it is enclosed by a number of major roads including, Logan Road, Miles Platting Road, the Pacific Motorway and the Gateway Motorway. Prior to the Busway’s development, options to improve public transport services in the areas that were not serviced by rail were explored. Although light rail and heavy rail options were in consideration, it was decided that the flexibility of buses best suited the unique nature of Brisbane’s urban development. In June 1995, consultants McCormick Rankin were commissioned to develop a Busway Strategy for Brisbane. More than eleven years on, the Busway’s occupancy has flourished in numbers as the public begin to acknowledge its efficiency.

The Eight Mile Plains Busway Station features a free Park'n'Ride facility.
It is proposed to extend the South East Busway to connect Eight Mile Plains Station with Springwood Bus Station by a dedicated 4.8 km busway. The extension is to coincide with an upgrade to the adjacent section of the Pacific Motorway. Delivery is to be staged depending on funding between 2011 and 2026. The preferred alignment for the busway extension corridor was determined in 2007 and a Concept Design Study was undertaken by the Queensland Government in 2009.[1] Currently busses must exit the busway and travel along the Pacific Motorway to reach Springwood Bus Station.
An additional station between Eight Mile Plains and Springwood is proposed at Rochedale Station.
