Ehrharta is a genus of about 25 to 35 species of grass mostly native to Africa, with a few species native to the Mascarene Islands and Indonesia. The genus is also found in Yemen, China, Europe and North America and there are several invasive species including Ehrharta longiflora, Ehrharta calycina and Ehrharta erecta. Common names for this genus include veldtgrass.
This genus was named for the German botanist Jakob Friedrich Ehrhart.
