Edwin Benson

Edwin Benson (Ma-doke-wa-des-she, Iron Bison)[1] is the last speaker of the Mandan language. He was born in 1931 on the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota.[2] He has been involved in efforts to teach the basics of Mandan to youth.[1]
