The Edison Design Group (EDG) is a company that makes compiler frontends (preprocessing and parsing).[1][2] Their frontends are widely used in commercially available compilers and code analysis tools. Users include the Intel C++ compiler,[3] SGI MIPSpro, The Portland Group, and Comeau C++.[4] They are widely known for having the first, and likely only, frontend to implement the export
keyword of C++.[5][6][7][8]
Edison was founded by MIT graduate Steve Adamczyk.[9][10] Other employees include John Spicer and Daveed Vandevoorde.
