Edis Bahtijarević (Turkish: Ediz Bahtiyaroğlu) (born January 2, 1986 in Novi Pazar, Yugoslavia)[1] is a Bosnian football player, who also holds Turkish citizenship after moving to Turkey at the age of 10.

He currently plays central defender for MKE Ankaragücü in the Turkcell Super League.[2]

International career

After being capped 11 times for Turkey's U-21 side, in January 2010 it was confirmed by Bosnia and Herzegovina's national team manager, Safet Sušić, that he had contacted Edis Bahtijarević regarding the possibility to play for Bosnia-Herzegovina. It was reported in the Bosnian media that Edis needed some time to think about it and would respond in a matter of days.[3]

On February 5, 2010, Bahtijarević confirmed that he would play for Bosnia national football team.[4][5][6]
